Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Perianal Region(A report of a case)

Abstract

|
Squamous cell carcinoma of the anus and perianus is an infrequent disease for which no standardized treatment has been employed. The incidence is 2. 3% in relation to all cancer of the colon, rectum and anus.
Controversy has existed between surgeons and radiotherapist, and surgeons have advocated various approach,. ranging from conservative local wide excision to abdomino-perineal ressection with simultaneous bilateral groin node dissection. Local wide excision of low grade squamous cell carcinomaa of
the perianus is much longer than Miles´ operation in 5-year survival rate. The literature on the subject was reviewed.
The case reported here is a 33 years old man, having squamous cell carcinoma of the perianus which has treated with local wide excision and unilateral groin node dissection in a good result.
